Free from Sin and protected from all anxiety...

Today was Ava's Baptism. We recently joined St Margaret of Scotland church...and have been attending regularly for a few months now. Its an amazing church, with an unbelievable choir and a great pastor. There are tons of young families here and, once a month, Fr. John Kavanaugh says mass here. I have really become grafeful for and enjoyed a deeper connection with God through this church.

It was a wonderful service. As they did for our wedding, my Dad (Deacon Paul) and my 2nd cousin (Msgr. Mike Turek) shared duties. You might note that Mgsr Mike was also the pastor of the church/school where Cara taught 3rd and 5th grade before we met...its a small world!

I can't really describe the feeling of pride I felt as Ava was baptized. Msgr Mike talked about the dignity and honor of being a Christian..and I guess that was what I felt. Pride and honor that Ava will know God and that we will teach her about Christ and the calm that comes from knowing the Holy Spirit. I was so happy for her.

Afterwards, we had some friends and family over. It was a great afternoon and I was thankful to share such a wonderful day with family and friends.
