The O'Brien's Summer Home

Recently, our friends, the O'Briens, invited us to their "2nd home" in Innsbrook(west of Saint Louis). This recreational development was created as a country escape for well-incomed folks in the 40's and 50's. Most of the homes here are part-time use A-frames. Theirs is a simple version of that and really nice. The views from the deck to the lake were beautiful...as the leaves have just started to change. There was also a hayride and concert for plot owners on this cool Sunday afternoon.

You might also note that it is the O'Briens who brought my wife and I together. Jennie(and her sister Tara), a long-time friends of Cara and John, someone whom I've played in several bands with and remodeled countless rooms. They are a great family and wonderful friends. Their kids are sweet, full of energy and hilarious. It was a nice time to hang out with them...though they spent most of the day trying to get us to buy into Innsbrook near their place. (Perhaps one day, when my budget reflects fewer diapers, this will be an option)
