Lets Keep This Unbroken Together

This morning, while shopping for a birthday card for my mother-in-law, I saw the above.
The card was "SOLD OUT!!" and the card category? "Let's Fix This Together"

As my wife an I draw nearer to the birth of our 1st child, we, thankfully, are in no need of such a card. At first, I had quite a laugh. But, I couldn't help to think how lucky I am that I have such a great wife and such little need for cards like this. (Some are not so lucky!)

I've believe that, as parents, you set the ultimate example for what relationships should be like...and many kids grow up to have relationships with the opposite sex just like the version of their parents. Sure, we argue and disagree, but there is always an underlying deep respect and admiration for each other that runs through the veins of our marriage. ...and I plan to show that off to our daughter. That through good times and in bad, we offer respect and love to each other...and demand that respect right back.

On a similar note, I've noticed that my wife tends to rely on me a bit more. Not just the help I give her with putting on her tennis shoes or shaving her legs, but emotionally too. ...and that seems kinda' cool. I enjoy when she leans on me a bit...I guess that's my job as the "husband/father." Everyday I get closer and closer to my wife.

What an exciting time for us. I couldn't be happier for us and this little baby who has big cute lips and so much personality(as we found out in the recent 3-D ultrasound!).

I guess I should be shopping in the card section labeled..."I'm Forever Yours."
