Nesting

Fact is, I've been busy. ...and updating this blog has been low on the priority list....but alas, I have some good pictures for you.

We've been working hard to prepare for this little girl. Her room is nearly complete! Remember when I said I was going to hire a painter? Well, I almost did, until he told me he would charge $385 to paint 1 room! If you know me, then you know this aggression will not stand. I proceeded straight to the nearest Lowe's, purchased paint and headed home. Nearly a month later, I'm done. I sprayed 2 coats on the trim and added a built-in bookcase with a custom built corner "window seat." I replaced all of the shelves and bars in the closet, changed out the wobbly ceiling fan and then painted the whole room from top to bottom. Note: The stripe is painted using NO TAPE! I'm proud to say that this is all freehand. So, in the end, I painted the room myself and spent $300 on a flat screen TV for our bedroom.

At any rate, I then put together all of this furniture...nothing says fun like putting together a glider/rocker chair and missing 1 screw only to find it 1 hour later taped to the inside of the box I just threw away. I swear I was being laughed at that whole day by someone I don't know. So the pics attached here are where we stand today. Just a few final touches (we're waiting on a new crib mattresses that we ordered...my bride decided that our 1st choice was "too soft.") and we 're officially ready for Baby.

Alas, Dad of the Future is almost a dad of the present!! ...can't wait...2 weeks or so to go until we meet this cute little girl.
